Fall Break in Oklahoma City

We had a great little mini vacation to Oklahoma City this past weekend. We started off by taking the kids to the OKC Zoo. It was fun to see all the exhibits that we had missed the last time we were there. They were also able to ride the swan boats. It was a lot of fun to see the kids so excited and ready for more. We rode the carousel, played at the playground and rode the small train. We took a lot of photos so I will maybe have to do OKC part two. It was fun to make some new memories for our kids and to spend some fun time as a family.

Waiting patiently for the wax animals. It was fun to see these old machines again. After we left the zoo and got to the van, we realized that I had left the keys in the ignition and the car on, not running. So our battery was dead. We stopped some teenage passerby to help give us a jump. They were nice enough to help out. I guess I better be more careful next time.
We went to the Oklahoma Space Museum on Saturday. It was so much fun. The kids had a blast. Layla loved this exhibit of your mouth and teeth.
They had fun in this tank of water. They played for quite a while and never really got wet.

As you walk in the door there are these cool ping pong exhibits that Spencer just loved. I think he could have stayed there the whole four hours we were there.
Playing with the magnets, I even found myself playing with this one and having some fun.
BUBBLES!!
Spencer loved playing with this paper cup thing. It sent the cups flying. He laughed every time.
OK, here is finally a photo of me on the slide. This slide was the longest slide I have ever been on. It twists forever. I ended up running over McKay and bruising my hip. I guess chubby moms should avoid this slide. Mike did it a few times and had fun seeing how fast he could go, eventually he was just too dizzy to go anymore.
Spencer reading his book waiting to go swimming.
Swimming was fun at the hotel. They had waited all day to go.
This was one of the only time McKay was in the pool. He preferred walking around the outside.

On Sunday before we went home we stopped at the Oklahoma City memorial. It was so peaceful and a real neat experience for our kids.
Spencer by the reflecting pool.
Layla checking out the survivor wall. She was just amazed at all the trinkets on the wall.
