Tag

OK, I have been tagged by two different friends and have yet to share my seven interesting things. The game of tag is to share seven interesting things about yourself. So here goes....

1.I was born at 30 weeks only weighing 2 pounds 10 ounces.
2. I served in the same mission as my grandparents and at the same time. (PA Harrisburg)

3. I am a collector of Wizard of Oz items. I have a poster signed by one of the lolly pop kids and the coroner. I also have a good collection of barbie Wizard of Oz dolls. I think I am most proud of my porcelain doll set, I am missing the Lion (we cant seem to find it anywhere). My kids love to sit at the curio and look at all the dolls. My favorite is the wicked witch of the west, she was the first doll Mike bought me.

4. I love to go to the fabric store and just look at all the colors and patterns. I have a pretty good size fabric stash. I enjoy sewing and quilting. My favorite thing is to hand quilt, I made this Cinderella quilt for Layla's bed. It was my first quilt away from home without the help of my mom and grandma.

5. I secretly love to watch Seasame Street with my kids. I think they are pretty tired of any T.V. program or movie that contains a Muppet. I love all the Muppet movies. As a family we like to watch Muppet Treasure Island and sing the songs together.

6. I love to read. I have a nice pile of books I am trying to read as well as a wish list for Christmas. Besides reading books I love to collect them. I love to walk around Gardners paperback trader, adding books to my ever growing wish list and book shelf. I am currently reading Steve and Me by Terry Irwin. It's a pretty good book, great insight to their love of each other and their conservation.

7. I am a very sentimental person. To me everything has meaning, from the church program with my kids birthday listed to the denim jacket I wore in high school. I am a confessed pack rat. Mike and I are a bad pair when it comes to our "STUFF". We dread calling anyone to help us move, especially those who have helped us in the past and can't believe we could have so many boxes of books. I love memories and love to be reminded of old friends and experiences. My mom used to joke about all the school papers I would save and the Popsicle sticks, because you never know when you might need that homework paper from 6Th grade or when that Popsicle art project might happen.
I hope you all find this as interesting as I have. Its fun to think of all the things that make you unique and interesting. I am not going to tag anyone at this time but if you have not done this before it sure is fun. ENJOY......

This was so fun to read!! What mission did you serve in? I love books too - Rob and I both do. It's our downfall in a family housing apartment and on a student budget. I LOVE the quilt you made! It's incredible. You are so talented!!
